The elephantine granites of Arittapatti!

Elephant, like a moving train is always an evergreen fascination to watch beyond the barriers of age!

The famed monolithic standalone elephant sculpture in Mahabalipuram is a marvel art of Pallava style.

In Arittapatti hills near Madurai, I have seen a pair of similar standalone monolithic elephants! 

The difference is that they are not man made! 

But are carved out by mother nature!! 

Chiseled by geological factors and seasoned by weather for an unimaginable length of time!
